Ho Chi Minh City Promotes Broader International Cooperation

In his speech, Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc stated that in 2025, the global situation would continue to witness rapid, complex, and unpredictable changes. However, Vietnam remained steadfast in maintaining macroeconomic stability, sustaining high growth, expanding foreign relations, and elevating the nation's position.
These collective achievements provide a crucial foundation for localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, to confidently enter a new phase of development.
According to Nguyen Van Duoc, 2025 marks a year of synergy, convergence, and transformation for Ho Chi Minh City as its development space expands, activating new potentials, resources, and drivers.
Over the past year, Ho Chi Minh City's socio-economic landscape achieved positive results, with GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) growing by 8.03%, contributing nearly 24% to the national GDP growth; budget revenue exceeding 800 trillion VND; and per capita GRDP reaching nearly 8,800 USD.
Notably, the city led the nation in attracting foreign direct investment, reaching nearly 8.2 billion USD, with over 2 billion USD invested in science, technology, digital transformation, and innovation sectors.
A significant milestone highlighted by Nguyen Van Duoc is the commencement of the International Financial Center, which is expected to form a new regional growth pole, enhancing Ho Chi Minh City's role and position in the international economic and financial network.
Alongside economic development, Ho Chi Minh City successfully organized numerous major international events, continued to expand its network of friends and partners, affirming its image as a dynamic, open, and compassionate metropolis. The inauguration of the International Friendship Symbol is a lasting tribute from the city to its partners worldwide.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed that in every achievement of the city, there is a clear imprint of international cooperation. Investment promotion, trade, education, healthcare, culture, and innovation programs all involve the collaborative efforts and responsible connections from the Consular Corps and the international community, contributing significantly to the city's overall development.
Entering 2026, Ho Chi Minh City aims for double-digit growth, rapid yet sustainable development, and creating a living and investment environment that meets global urban standards, with science - technology, innovation, and green transformation as the foundation.
To realize this goal, Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc expressed his desire for foreign agencies to continue being reliable bridges, supporting the city in enhancing mutual understanding, expanding trade and investment cooperation, promoting technology transfer, training high-quality human resources, and developing future economic sectors.
Representing foreign agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, as Head of the Consular Corps, Mr. Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City, noted that despite global economic instability, Vietnam has maintained macroeconomic stability, promoted foreign economic relations, and effectively attracted foreign investment.
On behalf of the Consular Corps, Mr. Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City, especially the City Party Committee and People's Committee, for the attention and practical support provided to the diplomatic agencies of various countries in Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere, heralding a new year and the expectation that the cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and international partners will grow stronger, aiming to achieve significant development goals in 2026 and beyond.
