The program will take place at the August Revolution Square at 8:00 p.m. on August 15 and will be organised by the Thang Long Song, Dance and Music Theatre.

The program aims to widely disseminate among officials, Party members, armed forces, and all classes of the capital’s population the great significance of the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, a brilliant milestone in the nation's history, ushering in the era of national independence and freedom.

Through this event, the organizers wish to inspire national pride, educate revolutionary traditions, communist ideals, and strengthen faith in the leadership of the Party and the path toward socialism; encourage patriotic emulation movements; promote the great unity of the people and the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy country; and present the image of the thousand-year-old capital-heroic, creative and integrated with the world.

The program is expected to consist of three chapters:

Chapter I: Hanoi in the Historic Autumn Days - Praising the victory of the General Uprising on August 19 in Hanoi, a central event in Vietnam’s 20th-century history that ended over 80 years of French colonial rule and Japanese militarist occupation, while overthrowing the outdated and reactionary feudal regime that had served foreign powers, paving the way for the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Chapter II: The Epic of the Ho Chi Minh Era - Depicting Hanoi’s role, together with other northern provinces, as the great rear base for the southern front while actively supporting the Lao and Cambodian revolutions against their common the US imperialists and their henchmen. This chapter especially highlights the historic mark of 1972, when the army and people of Hanoi, along with those in other northern provinces, defeated the US air and naval war of destruction, achieving the resounding victory of the “Dien Bien Phu in the Air” battle over the skies of Hanoi, leading to the liberation of the South on April 30, 1975.

Chapter III: Spring Journeys - After historical ups and downs, Hanoi returns to its inherent peaceful beauty, capital of conscience and human dignity, where the nation’s finest values converge, crystallise, and shine, carrying revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and the great unity of the people. Hanoi is not only a thousand-year-old historical and cultural capital but also the heart of Vietnam, harmoniously blending the past and present.
