The event aims to strengthen the traditional friendship, nurtured over generations, while opening up new opportunities for cooperation in culture, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

With the desire to bring the image of an elegant, civilised, and rich-in-identity Hanoi closer to international friends, the cultural exchange activity, Hanoi Cultural Day in Moscow 2026, is organised as a beautiful picture that contributes to enhancing the warm, profound, and mutually beneficial cooperative relationship between the two capitals and countries.

The series of events includes two main highlights:

Exhibition "Quoc Tu Giam - Vietnam's First National University (1076 - 2026)"

Established in 1076, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam has a history of 950 years and is not only Vietnam's first university, which has trained many talents throughout the country's history, but also a prominent symbol of the nation's tradition of valuing education, respecting teachers, and utilising talent.

The exhibition aims to recreate the development journey of Vietnam's national education, the culturally rich space of Hanoi, while honouring the sustainable values that form the essence of Thang Long - Hanoi's cultural heritage. The activity also marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 950th anniversary of the establishment of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam.

The exhibition also presents vivid images of Vietnam today through traditional handicraft products, especially Dong Son bronze drum replicas; viewers in Moscow can directly experience the unique cultural activities of the capital right at the exhibition.

Special Art Program "Hanoi - Thousand-Year Melody"

The audience enjoys meticulously staged performances by People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, and prominent artists of Hanoi, featuring unique Vietnamese art forms such as Ca tru – an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO, Hat xam, Cheo, Chau van, along with the distinctive sounds of traditional instruments (dan bau, sao truc, dan nguyet) and contemporary music performances full of emotion, reflecting a dynamic and creative Hanoi.

Additionally, the program features a profound cultural exchange with famous Russian songs such as Moscow Nights, Evening at the Port, and Swan's Fidelity, showing respect for Russian culture and the close bond between the two peoples.

Through this series of events, Hanoi aims to strongly spread the cultural imprint of ancient, serene yet dynamic and creative Thang Long - Hanoi to Russian and international friends. The event is expected to continue building a solid foundation, fostering the strategic relationship between the two capitals and nations towards greater prosperity.
