The 63MVA, 115/35/23 kV transformer was manufactured by Tokyo - Japan - Hanaka 110-500kV Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Company (Hanaka Industrial Park, Dong Nguyen Ward, Bac Ninh Province). This is the first national key mechanical project in the 110-500kV range to receive technology transfer from Takaoka - Toko Company (Tokyo Electric Power Company), Japan. The successful energization marks a new milestone in sustainable green energy technology cooperation, reducing power consumption losses between Tokyo Electric Power Company, a global leader, and Hanaka, a leading industrial group in Vietnam.

The 63MVA, 115/35/23 kV Van Ninh substation has a total investment of 135 billion VND for Phase I. Once fully operational, it will meet the electricity needs of all factories, including those in Gia Binh II Industrial Park. Notably, Glory Faith - Kingboard Group, the world's leading PCB manufacturer, will be one of the first and largest customers to commence production in the park. This development builds trust among foreign investors to continue expanding their investments in Gia Binh II Industrial Park and Bac Ninh Province, contributing significantly to maintaining Bắc Ninh's leading position in attracting foreign investment in the country.

Previously, on May 29, 2023, a cooperation agreement signing ceremony took place in Tokyo, Japan, between Hanaka Group and Takaoka Toko Company on the technology transfer program for manufacturing 110-500kV transmission transformers.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Takashi Ichinose, Chairman of Takaoka Toko Company, stated that Hanaka is a leading electrical equipment manufacturer in the region. This collaboration opens opportunities for Takaoka Toko Company to expand and develop its market in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, while also fostering friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

“After the signing ceremony, Takaoka Toko Co will send its top production management experts and technology management engineers to Vietnam to train and establish the 110-500kV transformer production process with Hanaka Group,” Mr. Takashi Ichinose said.

Also speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Man Ngoc Anh, Chairman of Hanaka Group, emphasized that currently, transformer manufacturing companies in Vietnam and Southeast Asia have not received significant investments in modern facilities and technology lines, leading to an inability to promptly meet high consumer and export demands.

Therefore, this event marks a strategic development of the transmission grid from South to North to serve the country's economy and society, and holds significant importance in the cooperative relationship between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises. It contributes to ensuring national energy security, preventing incidents caused by natural disasters and fires, and opens up opportunities for energy export to the international market.

Both parties agreed to launch the announcement ceremony for the cooperation contract on the technology transfer of 110–500kV transmission transformer production in Vietnam in early July 2023, on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of Gia Binh II Industrial Park, invested by Hanaka Group.

Mr. Man Ngoc Anh, Chairman of Hanaka Group, signs the technology transfer cooperation agreement for transmission transformer production with the leadership of Takaoka Toko Company, Japan, on July 9, 2023.

Takaoka Toko Group has a history spanning hundreds of years in the production and manufacturing of electrical equipment and 110-500kV transformers. The group boasts leading scientific technology and production management in Japan, focusing on energy-saving, enhancing productivity and quality, and ensuring high safety standards worldwide.

Gia Binh II Industrial Park, invested by Hanaka Group, is meticulously planned with the goal of becoming a modern, synchronized industrial park, attracting high-quality FDI and DDI capital. Phase 1 covers an area of 250 hectares (with approximately 180 hectares of industrial land for lease). The total investment for Phase 1 is about 4,000 billion VND. Development model: Eco-Industrial Park - Circular - Environmentally Friendly. Phase 2 will expand by an additional 140 hectares, bringing the total area to nearly 400 hectares.

As of December 23, the industrial park has completed and put into use the 110KV transmission substation (135 billion VND), wastewater treatment plant (63 billion VND), clean water supply plant (62 billion VND), and completed infrastructure, lighting, roads, greenery, etc.

With a strategic location - a golden connection in the southern area of the Duong river, Gia Binh II Industrial Park boasts superior transportation advantages, helping investors optimize logistics costs: Transportation connectivity: Adjacent to National Highway 17 (a vital artery connecting Bac Ninh - Hanoi - Bac Giang - Quang Ninh). Favorable geographical distance: About 35km from Hanoi city center, about 45km from Noi Bai International Airport, only about 5km from the under-construction Gia Binh International Airport, about 80km from Hai Phong Port, and about 130km from Huu Nghi Border Gate (Lang Son). Regional advantage: Located in the new industrial development planning area of Bac Ninh Province, benefiting from the strongly upgraded transportation infrastructure (Kenh Vang Bridge, Ring Road 4).

The "green industry" ecosystem is the most important highlight of Gia Binh II. This is Hanaka Group's vision in creating a sustainable production space. As one of the pioneering industrial parks applying the Circular Economy model, Gia Binh II is not just a production site but a place to create a sustainable living and working environment; featuring modern technical infrastructure with a fully underground electrical system, high-tech wastewater treatment plant, and standard clean water supply system.

Gia Binh II Industrial Park is not just a simple industrial real estate project but a comprehensive solution for businesses seeking sustainable development in Vietnam. With its prime location, "green" infrastructure, and the support of Hanaka Group, it is forecasted to be a prosperous "destination" for both domestic and foreign investors.
