General Secretary To Lam attends art programme highlighting Vietnam–Russia ties

WVR/VNA - On the evening of March 5, in Hanoi, the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, organised an art programme with the theme “The Russian Soul in the Heart of Vietnam".

The event was held on the occasion of the working visit to Vietnam by the Russian Ministry’s delegation. It highlighted the cooperative ties and deep affection between Vietnam and Russia in general, and their peoples in particular.

The art programme was attended by Party General Secretary To Lam. Also attending were Politburo members Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Pham Gia Tuc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, among others. Russian Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Aleksandr Kurenkov also attended the event.

It featured performances by the Russian Ministry’s Symphony Orchestra and artists from the Orchestra of the Mobile Police High Command, and the People’s Public Security Song and Dance Theatre of Vietnam.

The art program structured in three main parts. The opening began with a welcoming performances by the Orchestra of the Mobile Police High Command under Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security.

The first part featured Russian musical works performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, with the participation of artists Mariya Kondratieva and Anton Lisichenko, among others.

The second part was presented by artists from the People’s Public Security Song and Dance Theatre under Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, showcasing melodies imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity, as well as well-known Russian songs beloved by Vietnamese audiences such as “Evening at the Harbour” and “Nightingale,” performed by singers Bao Yen and Khac Tiep.

The third part highlighted friendly exchange performances by artists from both countries, reflecting harmony and solidarity. These performances symbolised the close bonds, sharing, and cultural and artistic exchanges between the peoples of Vietnam and the Russian Federation, contributing to greater mutual understanding.

The programme concluded with a joint choral performance by artists from both countries of two symbolic songs, Russian “My National Flag” and Vietnamese “The Army of National Defence,” affirming the enduring solidarity and close ties between the two nations.

Over the past years, Vietnam and Russia have maintained their comprehensive strategic partnership based on traditional friendship and mutual trust. Alongside cooperation in politics, economy, and defence and security, cultural and artistic exchanges – particularly in music through regularly held events – have helped enhance mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Through diplomatic activities across multiple fields, cooperation between the two ministries has achieved practical results, especially in early warning and prevention of emergencies, firefighting, and search and rescue.
