During the meeting, General Secretary To Lam shared Vietnam's major orientations in the new development phase, emphasizing the vision and strategic goals of the Party's 14th Congress. These priorities include institutional improvement, growth promotion, scientific and technological development, innovation, digital economy, green economy, and continued deep, substantive, and effective international integration.
The General Secretary welcomed and highly appreciated Mr. Kurt Campbell's positive contributions in promoting Vietnam-U.S. relations over the years.
He affirmed Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, resilience, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development. Vietnam actively and responsibly participates in addressing regional and international common issues.
The General Secretary urged Mr. Kurt Campbell to continue his role as a reliable bridge between Vietnam and the U.S., the business community, and international partners. This includes promoting policy dialogue, providing strategic analyses on global economic, technological, and policy trends, and enhancing connections between U.S. businesses and strategic investors with Vietnam's ministries, sectors, and localities, especially in high-tech, finance, digital infrastructure, and clean energy sectors. He encouraged U.S. businesses to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam, focusing on improving governance standards and market transparency. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of timely reflecting business community proposals early in the policy-making process to enhance the feasibility and effectiveness of state-investor cooperation.
The General Secretary stressed that the success of investors is Vietnam's success, affirming Vietnam's commitment to continuously improving the investment environment, maintaining political and social stability, enhancing institutional quality, and creating the most favorable conditions for international businesses to develop long-term, effectively, and sustainably. Vietnam seeks deeper cooperation with the international business community, sharing responsibilities and benefits in sustainable development.
Mr. Kurt Campbell expressed his gratitude to General Secretary To Lam for the meeting, congratulated the success of the 14th Party Congress, and congratulated the General Secretary on being re-elected as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
He appreciated General Secretary To Lam's visit to the U.S., stating that the visit and Vietnam's participation in the Peace Council clearly demonstrate Vietnam's proactive, responsible role and substantive contributions to international peace, stability, and cooperation.
Mr. Kurt Campbell expressed deep admiration for the vision, development goals, and major orientations set forth at the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, considering them a crucial foundation for Vietnam to maintain stability, rapid, and sustainable development in the future.
