Opinions aimed at making the country better are commendable, while extreme and ill-intentioned statements do not reflect the common aspirations of the Vietnamese community towards the homeland.
Evaluating the Party and State's policies in recent times, she noted that proactively opening multiple channels for interaction, meetings, and dialogue with overseas Vietnamese, as well as receiving feedback through the press and media, clearly demonstrates a spirit of openness and innovation.
This is a positive signal, affirming trust in the intellectual resources of overseas Vietnamese, while also motivating them to participate more actively in the country's construction and development in the new phase.
According to Ms. Tran Thu Dung, the most noticeable change recently is the openness and trust being concretely expressed, not only towards the previous generations of overseas Vietnamese but also towards their children born and raised abroad.
In Australia, Hong Jackson, President of the Vietnamese Women's Association in Western Australia, stated that the Party and State's initiative to open multiple channels to listen to overseas Vietnamese opinions is a wise policy, showing respect for the Vietnamese community abroad.
According to Ms. Hong Jackson, the support from Vietnamese representative agencies, especially the Consulate General in Perth, has helped the community access official information promptly, participate in discussions, and convey opinions on important national issues. This makes overseas Vietnamese feel that their voices are heard and acknowledged.
Ms. Hong Jackson believes that recent consultations on issues such as the Land Law or private economic development have touched on the practical concerns of overseas Vietnamese, directly related to their rights, investment opportunities, and long-term ties to the homeland.
However, she also suggested expanding more specialized consultation channels for different groups such as entrepreneurs, intellectuals, women, and young people to better reflect the diverse needs and perspectives of the community.
A point emphasized by many overseas Vietnamese is the role of the younger generation born and raised abroad. Programs like the Vietnam Summer Camp, cultural exchange activities, and support for teaching Vietnamese abroad not only help the younger generation understand more about history, culture, and roots but also naturally build trust, nurturing responsibility and aspirations to contribute to the country.
In Thailand, Mr. Vo Hai, Secretary-General of the Vietnamese Association in Thailand, believes that direct meetings and dialogues between Vietnamese representative agencies and overseas Vietnamese are not merely for gathering opinions but also for acknowledging the role of the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part of the nation.
These forums help overseas Vietnamese, even those living far from the homeland, feel they are part of the nation-building process, transforming their love for the homeland into practical and organized actions.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Hoang Hung Manh, a research expert at the Asian Institute of Technology, highly appreciates the increased engagement with overseas Vietnamese intellectuals.
According to him, this not only leverages the intellect, experience, and international vision of overseas Vietnamese but also helps make the Party and State's policies and documents more comprehensive and relevant in the context of deep integration.
To further effectively utilize the resources of overseas Vietnamese, it is necessary to maintain regular open dialogue forums and have clear mechanisms for feedback and response. When trust is reinforced with concrete actions, the overseas Vietnamese community will continue to be a reliable partner, contributing to strengthening national power and spreading Vietnam's prestige and image on the international stage.
