The event attracted approximately 250 online participants, including diplomats, scholars, entrepreneurs, experts, and students from both countries.
According to the organizers, VPS 2.0 is not just a restructuring of the organization but also a commitment to building more sustainable bridges between the Vietnamese community in the United States and domestic partners and organizations.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Huynh The Du, President of VPS, stated that after 13 years of formation and development with the spirit of “brotherhood, spreading strength,” VPS has achieved many positive results.
Entering a new phase, the organization aims for maturity, confidence, and aspirations to reach further, while continuing to adhere to its mission of supporting members in career development, successful integration into American society, and contributing to the development of both Vietnam and the United States.
According to Dr. Huynh The Du, many VPS members live between two cultures, two identities, and two homelands. Therefore, the Association continuously strives to build a connecting environment for members to maximize their capabilities, contribute to the community, and strengthen ties between the two nations.
VPS is built on three foundational principles: creating value for the community, decentralizing and sharing leadership roles, and supporting individuals and groups with a spirit of action and dedication. The organization aims to become a platform connecting talents, resources, and ideas to create positive values for society.
At the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the U.S. Nguyen Quoc Dung assessed the launch of VPS 2.0 as an important milestone, opening a new phase of innovation and development for the Association.
The Ambassador expressed support for the vision of building a network of Vietnamese experts in key areas such as education, technology, public policy, environment, and trade.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung, this orientation aligns with the development trends of the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, where science and technology, innovation, digital economy, and high technology increasingly become focal areas of cooperation.
This direction is also linked to Vietnam's development strategy, which takes science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as growth drivers, while promoting the role of the Vietnamese intellectual and expert community abroad as an important resource for national development.
Within the program framework, VPS 2.0 and Ho Chi Minh City National University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation, aiming to enhance educational partnerships between Vietnam and the U.S.
