UGVF is one of the long-standing Vietnamese community organizations in France, originally formed as the Group of Patriotic Annamites, closely associated with the name Nguyen Ai Quoc, beloved Uncle Ho.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai expressed his respect and gratitude to the veteran members who have continued the fine traditions of the patriotic Vietnamese expatriate movement in France over the decades.

The Ambassador highly appreciated the positive contributions of UGVF in fostering community solidarity, preserving national cultural identity, and strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and France.

The Ambassador expressed confidence in the passionate and dynamic younger generation who are continuing to build and develop the Association, especially as the Vietnamese community in France becomes increasingly diverse with many generations born and raised abroad.

According to Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai, teaching the Vietnamese language, preserving traditional culture, and connecting the younger generation with their homeland are of utmost importance for the future of the community.

During the meeting, the Ambassador and members discussed various community concerns such as the situation in Vietnam, Vietnam-France relations, new policies related to nationality, electronic chip passports, as well as activities supporting expatriates.

The Ambassador also shared some directions of the Embassy in accompanying Vietnamese associations in France, particularly in the fields of culture, education, and connecting the younger generation.

On their part, Mr. Nguyen Van Bon and Mr. Vuong Huu Nhan, representing the UGVF Executive Committee, expressed their appreciation for the Embassy's attention and support for the Association over the years.

The Executive Committee affirmed their commitment to continue promoting the role of a Vietnam-France friendship bridge, strengthening community solidarity, spreading Vietnamese culture and language, while also focusing on meaningful and practical activities towards their homeland.
