Located at the ancient Kaiserštejnský Palace in the heart of Prague, the exhibition space is adorned with vibrant Eastern colors. This marks the first time Vietnam has brought its heritage essence to the heart of Europe, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-Czech diplomatic relations (1950-2025) and in response to Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
The event, organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, serves as a bridge connecting the past and present, bringing the story of Vietnamese culture closer to the heart of Europe.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Hoàng Đạo Cương affirmed, “The exhibition is not only an occasion to showcase the rich and diverse beauty of Vietnamese cultural heritage, but also a bridge for the overseas Vietnamese community to reconnect with their roots; for international friends to understand and love Vietnam more – a place where tradition and modernity blend in every breath”.

The Deputy Minister stated that the purpose of this exhibition in the Czech Republic is to vividly and visually introduce the values of Vietnamese cultural heritage to the overseas Vietnamese community and international public through displays, performances, and interactions.
This creates an opportunity for generations of overseas Vietnamese to understand and take pride in the nation’s historical and cultural traditions.
Showcasing the unique values of Vietnamese cultural heritage in the Czech Republic also serves to enhance cultural exchange and international cooperation, fostering understanding, respect, and closer ties between the people of Vietnam and the Czech Republic, further strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two nations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-Czech diplomatic relations.

In a solemn atmosphere, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam emphasized: “Today, we are here not only to admire the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam but also to share these values with friends and partners in the Czech Republic, a country with a deep, traditional friendship based on mutual respect, cooperation, and understanding.
Vietnam is a land with a long-standing, diverse, and rich cultural tradition. From ancient temples, folk music, to exquisite cuisine and unique handicrafts, each heritage is a thread connecting the past with the present, guiding us to the future.
We are proud that many heritages such as the Ao dai (long dress), water puppetry, or folk songs have been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. But more importantly, these values always live in the heart of every Vietnamese, whether at home or abroad”.

The exhibition space is elegantly arranged, displaying nearly 200 images, artifacts, and valuable documents, recreating the journey of preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage over centuries.
Four major themes: Heritage Preservation Policies, Traditional Festivals, Handicraft Villages, and the Multicolored Picture of 54 Ethnic Groups - blend like a magnificent symphony, immersing viewers in the depth of history and national identity.
Each display corner tells a small story: The red and gold hues of village festivals, the echo of gongs from the highlands, the sound of looms beside the artisan's hands... All merge into an epic about the Vietnamese spirit and soul.
The exhibition is not only for those who love culture but also a heartfelt invitation to the overseas Vietnamese community, so that in the heart of Prague, they still recognize the taste of their homeland in every color, every piece of brocade.
