WVR - On the morning of December 18, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang presented the Decision on the appointment and transfer of Mr. Duong Hai Hung, former Ambassador of Vietnam to Italy, to the position of Deputy Director of the European Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony was attended by representatives from various functional units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the appointment and transfer of Mr. Duong Hai Hung to the European Department reflects the trust of the Party Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' leadership in the capabilities, experience, and resilience of a diplomat honed through practical experience.
This move is also part of a strategy to enhance high-quality human resources, meeting the increasing demands of policy advisory, planning, and implementation of foreign policy towards Europe amid a dynamic international and regional environment.

In his new role, the Deputy Minister requested Mr. Duong Hai Hung to continue leveraging his responsibility and practical experience gained from bilateral and multilateral diplomatic work; to actively coordinate closely with relevant units within and outside the Ministry, making substantial and effective contributions to advising on the formulation and implementation of the Party and State's foreign policy, thereby helping to strengthen and elevate Vietnam's position and prestige in Europe.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Duong Hai Hung expressed his gratitude for the attention and trust of the Party Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' leadership.
He affirmed that in his new role, he will seriously implement and effectively execute the Party's foreign policy and the State's policy towards Europe; uphold the spirit of responsibility, unity, and innovate work methods, along with the European Department team, to successfully fulfill the assigned political tasks.
