The two Foreign Ministers expressed their delight at the significant progress in bilateral relations and the excellent cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries. They agreed to continue working together to further advance the Vietnam–Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and to soon organize the 8th Joint Committee meeting to officially approve the Action Plan for the Vietnam–Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2026-2030 period.

Both ministers emphasized economic cooperation, aiming to soon achieve a bilateral trade turnover of 20 billion USD in a more balanced manner, promoting fisheries cooperation, and swiftly signing a new Memorandum of Understanding on agricultural, fisheries, and food security cooperation.

The Malaysian Foreign Minister affirmed continued support for Vietnam in developing the Halal sector and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung congratulated Malaysia on successfully completing its role as ASEAN Chair in 2025, implementing many new initiatives and promoting the resolution of regional issues.

The two sides exchanged views on recent regional and international developments, particularly expressing deep concern over the tensions between Cambodia and Thailand. They agreed to continue coordinating with ASEAN member countries to maintain intra-group solidarity, uphold ASEAN's central role and mechanisms, and encourage both sides to exercise restraint, refrain from using force, engage in dialogue, and resolve issues peacefully, contributing to maintaining a peaceful, stable, secure, and developing environment in the region and globally.
