Upon hearing the news of the passing of former Speaker of the National Assembly and former Vice President of the Republic of Angola, Fernando Piedade dos Santos, on December 18, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent a condolence message to National Assembly Chairman Adão Francisco Correia de Almeida on December 22.
On the same day, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan sent a condolence message to Vice President Esperança Maria Eduardo Francisco da Costa.
