Approximately 200 guests attended the ceremony, including Deputy Director of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office Qian Hongxie, Director of Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office Yang Yong, Director of Guangzhou Transportation Department Shen Ying, leaders of foreign affairs agencies from Guangdong’s cities, representatives from various departments of Guangdong province and Guangzhou city, leaders of prominent associations and enterprises in Guangdong, Guangdong Television, and numerous friendly figures, Vietnamese expatriates, and students living, working, and studying locally.

In his speech at the ceremony, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung reviewed significant events jointly organized by the two countries to further strengthen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Guangdong across various fields, from politics, economy, and trade to culture, society, and people-to-people exchanges. Notable among these were the 9th Vietnam-Guangdong Cooperation Coordination Conference, the visit to Vietnam by Guangdong Provincial Standing Committee member and Vice Governor Zhang Guozhi, the "Comrade Hồ Chí Minh in China" exhibition, the construction of the Vietnam House at the "Southern Book Festival," and the "China-Vietnam Friendship Journey" by media agencies from both countries.
The Consul General also expressed deep gratitude to all Chinese and Vietnamese friends and comrades who have made significant contributions to nurturing the traditional friendship of "comrades and brothers" between Vietnam and China.
According to Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung, the friendship between the two nations and between Vietnam and Guangdong is a valuable asset that future generations should cherish, preserve, and continue to nurture and enhance through practical and effective cooperation projects in the future.
The Consul General hopes that agencies, departments, and friendly figures from both countries will continue to work closely together, writing new chapters and sowing new seeds for the journey of future springs in the Vietnam-China relationship, which will remain "evergreen and everlasting".

At the ceremony, the Consul General informed Chinese friends and expatriates about the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam – a highly significant political event that set forth historic decisions to successfully achieve the two centenary strategic goals outlined by the 13th Congress. The Consul General also emphasized the development path set by the Congress, which strongly affirms the need to innovate growth models and development methods, with science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the central drivers for rapid and sustainable national development in the new era.
On this occasion, the Consul General conveyed the significance of the Homeland Spring program – a special annual event demonstrating the deep concern of the Party, State, and the entire nation for overseas Vietnamese. The Consul General hopes that Vietnamese expatriates and students in Guangdong will continue to play their role as "people's ambassadors" to promote Vietnamese cultural values abroad and form a network of friendship envoys with other countries, as advised by President Ho Chi Minh.

For his part, Deputy Director of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office Qian Hongxie affirmed that Guangdong has always been one of the pioneering, dynamic, and closely connected provinces in exchanges and cooperation between China and Vietnam across all fields, including high-level delegation exchanges, building and strengthening cooperation mechanisms, economy and trade, implementing effective and practical projects, and establishing sister-city relationships with Vietnamese localities.
Notably, in the economic and trade sector, Vietnam has been Guangdong's largest trading partner among ASEAN countries for ten consecutive years. In 2025, the total import-export turnover between Guangdong and Vietnam reached USD 63.16 billion, an increase of over 12%, accounting for more than one-fifth of the bilateral Vietnam-China trade turnover. In 2025, the Metro Group of Guangzhou and Shenzhen won bids for subway projects in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, marking a new milestone in bilateral cooperation.
According to Deputy Director Qian Hongxie, after the successful 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Guangdong-Vietnam cooperation is facing favorable opportunities with broad prospects. Guangdong's relevant agencies are ready to accompany Vietnamese agencies in achieving the overall "6 more" goals set by the senior leaders of the two Parties and countries, promoting the building of a China-Vietnam Community with a Shared Future that continues to deepen and yield substantial results.
Entering 2025 – a highly significant milestone in the relations between the two countries, based on existing foundations, Guangdong's leadership hopes both sides will continue to implement high-level agreements and common understandings, advancing bilateral relations in the "6 more" direction, bringing new content to the traditional relationship of "comrades and brothers" in the new era.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the Consulate General has set up a "Vietnamese Tet" Cultural Corner featuring a five-fruit tray, bánh chưng, bánh tét, and traditional Vietnamese products and dishes to bring a warm atmosphere to expatriates far from home. It also introduced traditional Vietnamese Tet culture to Chinese friends.
