This annual event, organized by the Consulate General, aims to strengthen the ties between the leaders of the southern Lao provinces and the Consulate General, along with adjacent agencies and organizations. It also seeks to foster unity within the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese businesses in southern Laos, and to introduce Vietnam's traditional cultural identity.

The program was attended by Alounxay Sounnalath, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee; Daovong Phonkeo, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Salavan Provincial Party Committee; Silay Sisavengsouk, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Attapeu Provincial Government Committee; Sisanga Keoduongdy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Sekong Provincial Government Committee; representatives of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Pakse; leaders of departments and agencies of the four southern Lao provinces; staff of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse and agencies based in Pakse, along with a large number of the Vietnamese community and representatives of Vietnamese businesses investing and operating in southern Laos.

Speaking at the program, Consul General Ta Phuong Dung emphasized that the Spring in Homeland 2026 program is organized in the jubilant atmosphere of the entire Party, army, and people of both Vietnam and Laos, celebrating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

The Consul General highlighted the significant achievements Vietnam attained in 2025 and during the 2021-2025 period, as well as the important milestones in the special relationship between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos.
In 2025, the traditional and friendly cooperation between the four southern Lao provinces and 13 localities in Vietnam continued to deepen, becoming more practical and effective.

With the support and facilitation of the southern Lao provinces' authorities, alongside the companionship of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse and adjacent agencies, the Vietnamese community and businesses in the four southern Lao provinces have maintained unity, preserved their cultural identity, and consistently looked towards their homeland with practical activities, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the host country. They serve as a bridge of friendship, nurturing the close-knit relationship between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

Affirming the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam, which always considers the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part and an important resource of the Vietnamese nation, the Consul General affirmed that the Consulate General of Vietnam will continue to accompany and coordinate with relevant agencies and Vietnamese associations to effectively care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community and businesses in southern Laos.

Representing the leadership of the southern Lao provinces Alounxay Sounnalath congratulated the significant achievements that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam have achieved over the past 80 years. He emphasized the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, founded by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Caysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong, which has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries, growing stronger and deeper, becoming more practical and effective across various fields.

The Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the contributions of the Consulate General in developing cooperative relations between the four southern Lao provinces and nine provinces, four cities in central, Central Highlands, and southern Vietnam. This includes effectively implementing cooperation agreements and confirming that the Party and government of the southern Lao provinces will continue to coordinate with the Consulate General to deepen the special Laos-Vietnam, Vietnam-Laos relationship, as well as the relations between the southern Lao provinces and Vietnam.

The Homeland Spring 2026 program organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse took place in a joyful atmosphere filled with the spirit of Vietnam-Laos solidarity and friendship.
The distinguished guests enjoyed a photo exhibition on the relations between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos, savoured Vietnamese Lunar New Year dishes, and watched performances celebrating the love for the homeland and the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, along with the traditional Lam-vong dance of Laos.
