A treasure trove of valuable and unique cultural heritage
Former Kinh Bac and today's Bac Ninh province is a land of extraordinary people, with a rich tradition of history, culture, and revolution.
Over thousands of years, this place has accumulated and passed down a particularly rich treasure of valuable and unique cultural heritage, embodying the typical cultural values of the Red River Delta while being unique and distinct, especially the Quan ho Bac Ninh folk songs – an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Currently, Bac Ninh boasts 1,589 significant cultural and historical relics, including 5 special national relics, 206 national relics, and 457 provincial relics; 18 artifacts or groups of artifacts recognized as national treasures.

The land of Bac Ninh proudly hosts four intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO: Quan ho Bac Ninh folk songs, Ca tru, the practice of the Mother Goddess worship of the Three Realms, and the tug-of-war rituals and games of Huu Chap village. Additionally, Bac Ninh has eight intangible cultural heritages listed in the national intangible cultural heritage inventory.
Not only rich in cultural heritage, this region is also known as the land of traditional folk festivals, with nearly 600 large and small festivals; 140 craft villages, including 62 traditional craft villages; and various forms of folk performing arts such as tuong, cheo, trong quan, water puppetry, and folk games...
Moreover, thousands of rituals, customs, legends, anecdotes, chants, and stories about historical figures and predecessors, as well as those related to the human life cycle, are preserved and passed down by the communities of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac from generation to generation...

Ensuring cultural heritage endures over time
Aware of the importance of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage, alongside focusing on socio-economic development, Bac Ninh province always pays attention to investing resources to preserve and promote various types of cultural heritage with specific policies for each field of heritage conservation.
Efforts in communication and promotion are emphasized through diverse and rich forms, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility among all levels of government and the community in the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage.
The province has pioneered the implementation of a digitalization project to sustainably preserve the cultural heritage treasure of the homeland, while also completing a project to produce films for the promotion and advertisement of significant cultural heritage, opening up opportunities for Bac Ninh's cultural heritage to integrate into modern society.

At the ceremony commemorating the 1015th anniversary of King Ly Cong Uan's coronation and the reception of the special national relic certificate for Dinh Bang communal house; the reception of the national relic ranking certificate for the memorial area of comrade Le Quang Dao and the viewing of the national treasure "Hoang de Chi bao" held in April 2025, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that diverse and rich cultural heritage is one of the important drivers and resources for Bac Ninh's rapid and sustainable development.
In the future, the province needs to strengthen education and promote awareness about these valuable cultural heritages, rich in traditional cultural identity, so that every citizen understands the historical value of the nation and joins hands in preserving and protecting them.
The National Assembly Chairman also suggested researching solutions to "bring cultural heritage closer to the people", enabling people to access, participate widely, and fully enjoy the cultural heritage values, making these cultural values vibrant and enduring.
"Research and issue mechanisms and policies to promote the development of cultural industries, cultural tourism, and implement digital transformation in the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, contributing to bringing the image of Bac Ninh to a wide audience both domestically and internationally," emphasized the National Assembly Chairman.
As President Ho Chi Minh advised: "Culture lights the way for the nation", Bac Ninh understands the great responsibility in the work of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values linked to sustainable development. The province will continue to prioritize the task of building culture and people, focusing resources and solutions on preserving and promoting cultural heritage values linked to tourism development... contributing to ensuring these cultural heritages endure over time.
