During the meeting, Ambassador Do Hung Viet updated the President of the General Assembly on the developments of the 11th NPT RevCon in the first two weeks, emphasizing the complex international geopolitical context and affirming the determination to work with member countries to promote the conference to achieve substantive and balanced results.
Expressing gratitude for the support of the President of the General Assembly for Vietnam in its role as Chair of the 11th NPT RevCon, Ambassador Do Hung Viet highly appreciated Annalena Baerbock's leadership in promoting many important processes at the United Nations recently, affirming that Vietnam will closely coordinate and actively contribute to efforts to reform and enhance the effectiveness of the United Nations in general and the General Assembly in particular.
President of the United Nations General Assembly Annalena Baerbock acknowledged the importance of the 11th NPT RevCon in the context of the complex global situation, posing many challenges to international peace and security; she appreciated Vietnam's efforts and contributions in its role as Chair of the Conference, including the early circulation of the draft outcome document.
Ms. Baerbock affirmed that both she and the Office of the President of the General Assembly are ready to support the Chair of the 11th NPT RevCon in managing the Conference, coordinating negotiations, and promoting consensus to achieve positive results.
