The two sides exchanged views on areas where cooperation could be enhanced, primarily trade, based on the complementary nature of the two economies and the fact that both Vietnam and Chile are members of The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Regarding regional cooperation, the two diplomats discussed ASEAN's role in connecting Chile with the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the potential for enhanced coordination within multilateral frameworks such as Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and CPTPP. The Ambassador also shared that Vietnam will host APEC 2027, a significant event for the region.
The meeting contributed to consolidating and promoting the positive development of Vietnam-Chile relations, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
