In response to the call from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany organized a fundraising event on the morning of November 28 in Berlin. The event aimed to support the Central and Central Highlands regions severely affected by floods. It received enthusiastic participation from the embassy staff and associated agencies.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Dac Thanh provided an overview of the severe damage caused by natural disasters in various localities recently. He urged the Vietnamese community in Germany to continue the spirit of solidarity and support, helping flood-affected residents overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
The Ambassador emphasized that now more than ever, the people of the Central and Central Highlands regions need compassionate support and timely encouragement from fellow citizens and overseas Vietnamese. “We earnestly call on everyone to uphold the nation's fine tradition, share, and support the flood-affected people during this difficult time,” the Ambassador stressed.
Currently, Nguyen Quang Anh – Vice Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Germany, is in Vietnam to deliver the second installment of 420 million VND to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Sen Vàng Berlin Charity Association in Germany is present in the flood-hit area of Hoa Tri - Phu Yen, distributing 2 tons of rice and 200 boxes of noodles to 200 households.
This is a timely and practical activity. Every contribution, no matter how small, is immensely valued; each donation, whether large or small, helps instill faith and resilience in the affected people to rise after the floods.
Recently, the Vietnamese community in Germany has continuously launched various charitable activities to support those affected by natural disasters in Vietnam. Previously, on October 5, the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, in collaboration with the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Germany and community organizations, organized a fundraising ceremony to support those affected by Typhoon No. 10, raising nearly 5 billion VND.
At the initial fundraising event, the embassy collected nearly 100 million VND. While these contributions cannot fully compensate for the losses endured by the disaster-stricken people, they vividly demonstrate the enduring connection and support from those far from their homeland.
Later that day, the Union of Vietnamese Associations will inform the Executive Committee about the damage situation after the floods in the Central and Central Highlands provinces and call for the Vietnamese community in Germany to unite in support of their homeland.
