Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong introduces activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Greece diplomatic relations.

Speaking at the press conference, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong announced the activities and significance of the events held to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Greece (April 15, 1975 – 2025), including the launch of the documentary film *Vietnam–Greece: Sail Across the Ocean*, available in Greek, English, and Vietnamese.

Produced by the Vietnamese Embassy, the documentary reviews 50 years of traditional friendship between the two countries, highlighting stories of the Greek people's affection for Vietnam and the historical and cultural similarities that have fostered a deep and natural bond between the two nations.

At the press conference, the official logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations—designed by the Embassy—was also unveiled.

The logo incorporates symbolic elements from each country’s culture: Vietnam’s Lac Bird and Greece’s classical column architecture, along with the red and yellow of the Vietnamese flag and the blue and white of the Greek flag. It symbolizes the harmony and connection between the two nations, despite being located on different continents.

The event also marked the official launch of the book *Biography of President Ho Chi Minh* in Greek, and the organization of Vietnam Film Week in the capital city of Athens and Thessaloniki—the second largest city in Greece—taking place from May 11 to 20, 2025.

The films screened during the Film Week featured English subtitles and were also translated and subtitled in Greek, making Vietnamese cinema more accessible to Greek audiences.

These initiatives were carried out in collaboration between the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Film Institute, Hanoi Radio and Television, and Greek partner Mr. Velissarios Kossivakis, a member of the Greek Communist Party, along with New Star Art Cinema and Cine Vakoura.

On this occasion, Ambassador Huong also shared updates on Vietnam's socio-economic development and highlighted key milestones in Vietnam–Greece relations.

The press conference drew significant attention and coverage from major Greek media outlets, including Greek Radio, the Athens–Macedonia News Agency, To Vima, and others. Several press agencies also requested in-depth interviews with the Ambassador.
