On September 29, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Vietnamese Consul General in Sihanoukville Nguyen Trung Hieu presented his consular credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia. On behalf of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Secretary of State Ker Vicseth received the consular credentials.
At the ceremony, Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu expressed his pleasure and honour to be assigned to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sihanoukville, one of the three Vietnamese Representative Missions in Cambodia, responsible for the consular area covering six southwestern provinces of Cambodia: Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Koh Kong, Kep, Kampong Speu, and Takeo; including provinces with land and maritime borders adjacent to Vietnamese localities.

Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu expressed his desire to continue receiving the active attention and support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, relevant Cambodian agencies, and the authorities of the provinces within the consular area. This support would contribute to successfully fulfilling the assigned tasks, strengthening and deepening the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Delighted with the achievements that the two countries have attained recently, Deputy Secretary of State Ker Vicseth expressed confidence that Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu, with his experience in foreign affairs, will have a successful term, continuing to make positive contributions to strengthening and developing the special Vietnam-Cambodia relationship in general, as well as the cooperative relations between Vietnamese localities and the six provinces within the consular area in particular.
