Vietnamese Associations across Japan gather at the Homeland Spring 2026 Event in Osaka

This occasion allows the Vietnamese community, from newcomers to second and third generations, to share the joy of Tet while introducing the beauty of Vietnamese culture to Japanese friends.

This year's event was held under the auspices of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka and the Ikuno Ward government – one of the major centers of the Vietnamese community in Japan.
With participation from associations and clubs from Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima, Tokushima, Gunma, Toyama, Aichi, Gukui, Saitama, and many other localities, Homeland Spring 2026 is not just a cultural festival but also a bridge for associations to exchange, share community activity experiences, and collaborate in cultural and educational activities.
The program featured Mr. Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka; Ms. Huynh Thuy Hanh, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, along with Japanese parliamentarians and representatives from associations across Japan.

In his speech, Mr. Ngo Trinh Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Japan, especially in the Kansai region, in building a strong community, integrating well with the local society, and always looking towards their homeland.
The Consul General emphasized that Vietnam-Japan relations are increasingly developing in depth and substance; he also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community will continue to play a role as a bridge of friendship, contributing to nurturing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in the future.

Ms. Le Thuong, President of the Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region and Head of the Organizing Committee, also stated that the program is a meaningful cultural community activity, contributing to preserving national identity, strengthening the bond within the overseas Vietnamese community, and promoting cultural exchange, enhancing understanding and friendship between the Vietnamese and Japanese people.
Within the program's framework, various cultural-artistic activities were organized, such as exhibitions of paintings and photos introducing Vietnamese culture and tourism, attracting the attention of many visitors.
Additionally, traditional games, cultural Tet experiences, and a banh chung wrapping contest created a joyful atmosphere, allowing participants to directly experience the traditional Tet customs of the Vietnamese people.

The program also featured culinary exchanges with Vietnamese Tet meals, Vietnamese costume performances, community art exchanges, and a screening of the film Red Rain, contributing to spreading the cultural, historical values and the spirit of solidarity of the Vietnamese community in Japan.
Notably, the launch of the Vietnamese Businesswomen's Association in Japan during the event is a testament to the spirit of “Unity – Looking to the Roots – Spreading Culture”, reflecting the community's efforts in economic, cultural, and social development while honoring the role of women.

The association will become an important bridge, combining business activities with cultural, educational, and charitable programs, aiming for the sustainable development of the Vietnamese community in Japan.
The program concluded with a Closing Ceremony and appreciation for the accompanying units, leaving a positive impression on attendees, reaffirming Homeland Spring as an annual cultural rendezvous of significance, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-Japan friendship.
