Vietnam Culture Day aims to become a National brand

WVR - The Government Office has issued document No. 9636/VPCP-KGVX dated September 22, 2026, conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra on implementing the plan to organize "Vietnam Culture Day - November 24".

Accordingly, the organization in 2026, the first year of implementing the 2026-2030 Plan according to Decision No. 1111/QD-TTg dated June 19, 2026, by the Prime Minister, must ensure solemnity, practicality, depth, and create a new mark in organizing nationally significant cultural events.

Innovating organization methods, centering on the people

The Deputy Prime Minister demands a strong innovation in organizational methods, ending the bureaucratic approach; shifting from commemorations and conferences in auditoriums to public spaces, monuments, museums, parks, pedestrian streets, cultural houses… with practical cultural experiences.

The people, community, artists, intellectuals, businesses, and the younger generation are identified as both the center and the participants, creators, and direct beneficiaries. Activities need to reflect Vietnamese cultural identity while embodying the spirit of innovation, creativity, integration, and the aspiration for development.

The Deputy Prime Minister also calls for increased application of science, technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence; linking cultural development with cultural industries, heritage tourism, and the digital economy. The effectiveness evaluation should use the level of cultural enjoyment by the people and social impact as important criteria.

Activities must combine budget resources with lawful socialization, practice thrift, avoid ostentation and waste, while ensuring security, order, and civilized lifestyle. Each activity is directed to become a specific cultural product, each locality having its unique mark, gradually building “Vietnam Culture Day - November 24” into a national cultural brand.

Unified domestic organization, expanding international promotion

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is tasked with urgently developing the overall plan for 2026 and the identity package for “Vietnam Culture Day” including logos, slogans, publications, and communication messages for unified use nationwide and in the digital environment; reporting to the Prime Minister before October 5, 2026.

The Ministry is also required to guide unified organizational criteria for localities, coordinate the development of cultural, heritage, craft village, culinary, and traditional art experiences linked with products, routes, and tourist spots. Additionally, it should launch literary and artistic creation initiatives and select distinctive cultural products with the potential to become annual brand products.

According to the orientation, a central event can be organized in combination with a series of responsive activities nationwide, focusing on content that is attractive and accessible to young people.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese Representative Missions abroad to research organizing “Vietnam Culture Day - November 24” in suitable locations, associated with cultural diplomacy, external information, and promoting the image of Vietnam and its people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will direct representative missions and the Vietnamese Cultural Centres abroad to intensify the promotion of heritage and national culture to the international community and overseas Vietnamese in November each year.

Provinces and cities are encouraged to proactively develop implementation plans, selecting at least one activity, product, or cultural space representative linked with promotion, marketing, and tourism stimulation.

Along with this, cultural activities at museums, libraries, monuments, educational institutions, and public spaces should be increased; ensuring security, safety, environmental hygiene, and addressing the commercialization and distortion of festival values and superstitions.
