Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming attends seminar 'science - technology illuminates youth, joining hands to create a bright future'

Consul General Nghiem Viet Chung emphasised that science, technology, and innovation are opening up great opportunities for the younger generation while requiring them to have creative thinking, adaptability, lifelong learning capabilities, and a sense of community responsibility.

The Consul General stated that young people need to proactively master knowledge and technology, turning scientific achievements into practical initiatives contributing to the community and the sustainable development of each country and region.

Referring to Vietnam's policy, Consul General Nghiem Viet Chung highlighted that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as crucial drivers for national development. One of the tasks and solutions is to develop and prioritise high-quality human resources and talents through mechanisms and policies that attract outstanding students to study in science and technology fields.

The Consul General believes this is a vast space for the Vietnamese youth in particular and young people in the region to showcase their abilities and intellect, contributing to Vietnam's development and bringing Vietnam's good initiatives and values to international friends.

At the seminar, delegates emphasised Yunnan's role as a bridge for people-to-people exchanges, especially among youth in China and Southeast and South Asian countries. They noted that science, technology, and innovation present both opportunities and challenges for the younger generation, requiring youth and students from different countries to promote exchanges, study, research, and share knowledge to become ambassadors connecting understanding and friendship between Chinese youth and youth from countries in the region, contributing to common prosperity.
