Vietnam, Canada strengthen consular cooperation

During the meeting, both sides specifically discussed issues of mutual interest in the field of bilateral consular cooperation. Ms. Kati Csaba highly appreciated the outcomes of her meetings with Vietnamese authorities, noting that the exchanges have achieved many positive results, contributing to enhancing understanding and coordination between the two agencies.
Director General Doan Hoang Minh affirmed that the Consular Department of Vietnam always values and is ready to closely cooperate with Canada in consular affairs, citizen protection, immigration, and training cooperation to enhance capacity. He requested that Canada continue to support and share experiences in areas where the Vietnamese Consular Department seeks to strengthen its professional capacity.
Both sides agreed to maintain regular exchanges and effective coordination to further improve the quality and effectiveness of bilateral consular cooperation, meeting the increasing demands of the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
The meeting took place in the context of the continuously strengthening and developing Vietnam – Canada Comprehensive Partnership across various fields. Both sides believe that consular work will continue to be one of the important pillars, making a practical contribution to promoting friendly relations, cooperation, and serving the common interests of the peoples of both countries.
