Vietnam, Russia hold 12th Consular consultation: Comprehensive and substantive
WVR - On November 6, the 12th Consular Consultation between Vietnam and Russia took place in Hanoi, co-chaired by Doan Hoang Minh, Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and Aleksey Vladimirovich Klimov, Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

Attending the meeting were Russian Ambassador to Vietnam G.S. Bezdetko, Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City T.S. Sadykov, and Russian Consul General in Da Nang M.G. Mizonova, along with representatives from the Foreign Ministries of both countries.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in a comprehensive and substantive exchange on consular issues such as immigration, residency of citizens in each other's territories, citizen protection, consular activities, and other matters of mutual interest. Both parties affirmed their commitment to continue active and close cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of bilateral consular work.
In the context of ever-strengthening and expanding Vietnam-Russia cooperation, consular work and citizen protection continue to make practical contributions to promoting traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, serving the common interests of their peoples.

The regular consular consultation mechanism between the two sides has become an important forum for exchange, as noted in the Cooperation Plan between the two Foreign Ministries. To date, 12 successful consular consultations have been held, enhancing understanding of each other's policies and laws and resolving numerous issues in consular work. This is also an effective channel for exchanging experiences between the functional units of the two countries in implementing their respective functions and duties.
Building on the achievements of the 11th Consular Consultation held in Moscow in 2024, both sides agreed that this consular consultation continues to make substantial progress in resolving consular issues and opens up new avenues for cooperation in the future.
