Rossiya Segodnya is a Russian international media group, established in 2013 by presidential decree, currently managing major names in the media sector such as Sputnik, RIA Novosti, and providing news in over 30 languages.

During the session, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi reviewed the significant milestones in bilateral relations in 2025, highlighting the official visit of General Secretary To Lam to Russia in May 2025. The ambassador emphasized that the success of this visit has created new momentum, propelling the two countries into a more dynamic and diverse phase of development.

The ambassador shared that the bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia is poised for strong growth, especially as Vietnam resumes its nuclear power project. Both sides are also striving to enhance cooperation in human resource training and tourism.

Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi also highlighted that Russia is currently one of the few countries hosting permanent offices of Vietnam's four largest national press agencies, including the Vietnam News Agency, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and Nhan Dan Newspaper.

The leadership of Rossiya Segodnya affirmed that Vietnam is one of the key readership markets, noting that the traffic from Vietnam to the group's products, including Sputnik, has remained high and stable in recent years.

The Russian international media group evaluated the existing cooperation model with some Vietnamese media agencies as effective, proposing to expand the exchange of news, articles, and photos, enhance joint production of programs targeting audiences in both countries, and explore establishing priority or even exclusive interview mechanisms with senior Vietnamese leaders during visits and major events.

During the meeting, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi informed the leadership of Rossiya Segodnya about Vietnam's most significant political event: the 14th National Congress of the Party, scheduled from January 19 to 25, 2026. This event marks the beginning of a new era of development for Vietnam, electing the top leadership for the next five years and garnering significant international attention. Therefore, accurate, truthful, comprehensive, and objective information dissemination is of utmost importance and must be prioritized.

Both sides also discussed specific initiatives to deepen cooperation, including maintaining and expanding journalism training courses for young Vietnamese reporters at Rossiya Segodnya, aiming to establish a regular journalist exchange model to enhance practical understanding and share modern journalism experiences.

On this occasion, both parties also considered the possibility of collaborating to develop special columns, reports, or programs on significant milestones in Vietnam-Russia relations, aiming to vividly reflect specific cooperation projects in economics, science and technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of external communication and strengthening the social foundation for bilateral relations.
