During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Thu Hang welcomed Mr. John Fraher to Vietnam and highly appreciated Bloomberg's contributions since establishing its permanent office in Hanoi in 2001. Bloomberg has played a role in enhancing Vietnam-U.S. relations by disseminating information on Vietnam's socio-economic development, particularly political and diplomatic activities and international events in Vietnam such as APEC 2006 and 2017.

Deputy Foreign Minister Thu Hang informed Mr. John Fraher about Vietnam's development, highlighting recent positive changes such as the reorganization of provincial administrative units and the two-tier local government system. She emphasized the ongoing restructuring and streamlining of the state administrative apparatus to create new momentum for rapid and sustainable growth. In foreign affairs, Vietnam continues to promote relations with other countries based on balanced interests, transitioning from a give-and-take relationship to mutually beneficial partnerships, which has been recognized and appreciated by international partners. Notably, in 2026, Vietnam will hold the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party, a significant political event marking the start of a new development era.
