Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang affirmed that Vietnam always values and seeks to enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, including close and effective cooperation at the UN and multilateral forums.

The Deputy Minister appreciated Russia's role and stance at the UN, emphasising that Vietnam is ready to closely coordinate with Russia to uphold the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, promote multilateralism, and strengthen the UN's central role in global governance and addressing global challenges.

Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang requested Russia's support for Vietnam's role as Chair of the 2026 Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), affirming that Vietnam will undertake this important role with a spirit of balance, objectivity, and transparency. Vietnam will consult, listen, and harmonise the interests of all regions, countries, and stakeholders, especially the Permanent Members of the UN Security Council (P5), thereby contributing to promoting dialogue, strengthening the non-proliferation mechanism, and moving towards the goal of comprehensive nuclear disarmament.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister also thanked Russia for supporting Vietnam in hosting the upcoming Signing Ceremony of the UN Convention on Cybercrime in Hanoi. He expressed hope that Russia will continue to collaborate and contribute positively to the success of the event, thereby contributing to the international community's joint efforts in combating cybercrime and ensuring global cybersecurity.

For his part, Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko praised Vietnam's proactive and responsible role at the UN, contributing to maintaining peace, cooperation, and development in regions and globally. On this occasion, the Russian Ambassador expressed gratitude for Vietnam's support for Russia's initiatives and efforts at multilateral forums, and expressed a desire for both countries to enhance exchanges, coordinate positions, and support each other at UN agencies and other international organisations.

The Ambassador affirmed that Russia considers Vietnam an important partner in Southeast Asia and will continue to work closely with Vietnam in promoting joint initiatives and strengthening the UN's role in global governance.

Both sides agreed to maintain a regular exchange mechanism and continue close coordination in other areas of mutual interest.
