Viet Nam wishes to deepen relations with UK: official

At the reception, Anh expressed his delight at the growing Viet Nam – UK strategic partnership and thanked the UK’s assistance for Viet Nam’s COVID-19 response efforts.
He affirmed Viet Nam supports the UK in strengthening its economic and trade cooperation with the region and is willing to share information and experience in joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Stressing the Vietnamese Party’s and Government’s determination to implement Viet Nam’s commitments at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), he said he hopes the two nations will further strengthen their cooperation for mutual benefits, contributing to solving global challenges.
For his part, Stuart said he is delighted with the sides’ positive trade outcomes since the UK – Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement came into force and thanked Viet Nam’s support for the UK’s accession to the CPTPP.
Welcoming Viet Nam’s commitments at COP26, the envoy stated he will continue to assist and work closely with Viet Nam in realising them.
Informing that G7 countries have agreed to adopt a fair energy transition platform for Viet Nam, Stuart agreed to make efforts to promote more effective and substantive economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in line with their wishes and interests.
