Tieng Viet Vui program opens new academic year, continues to preserve Vietnamese language in Russia
WVR - On September 27, the Tieng Viet Vui (Joyful Vietnamese Language) Program, under the Vietnam Students Association in Russia, held the opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year. The program continues its mission to maintain the teaching and learning of the Vietnamese language for Vietnamese children in Russia, while also creating opportunities for students to explore Vietnamese culture and history.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, Tieng Viet Vui has registered 73 students, including 69 children of the Vietnamese community residing in Russia and 4 Russian students interested in learning Vietnamese for cultural exploration or family purposes.
The increase in student numbers is accompanied by the strengthening of the program's operational team. A total of 22 members are involved in organizing activities, including 8 members of the Professional Committee, 10 members of the Teaching Assistant Committee, and 4 members of the Communications Committee.
Innovative approach to Vietnamese Language
One of the key focuses for the new academic year is to enhance the integration of knowledge about Vietnamese culture, history, and life into the curriculum, tailored to each age group.
A notable new feature is the official introduction of the “Chao Tieng Viet” materials by author Nguyen Thuy Anh. The use of these materials aims to diversify teaching methods, linking language learning with real-life situations and content, thereby providing students with more opportunities to learn about Vietnamese culture during their language studies.

This is also identified as a preparatory step for the program to gradually refine its methods and enhance teaching quality in the coming years.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, First Secretary in charge of the Education Department, Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, acknowledged the efforts of the volunteer team in maintaining and organizing the classes.
According to Ms. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, maintaining a Vietnamese language program for Vietnamese children abroad requires preparation as well as consistent and persistent contributions from many members.
The Embassy representative hopes that Tieng Viet Vui will continue to grow, expand its activities, and achieve more positive results in the coming years.
Accompaniment from family to classroom
Besides the program's role, the cooperation of families is also identified as a crucial factor in maintaining the habit of using Vietnamese among children.
The Parent Association representative expressed gratitude to the Organizing Committee and the volunteer team, pledging that families will closely cooperate with the program to create an environment for children to regularly communicate in Vietnamese at home.
After the opening ceremony, Tieng Viet Vui embarks on a new academic year with many planned activities, including programs to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20, Vietnamese Language Day, the 86th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, and the 137th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
The continuation of classes, expansion of student numbers, and innovation in teaching materials continue to provide conditions for the Vietnamese language to be more frequently used within the Vietnamese community in Russia, while also offering the younger generation more opportunities to engage with the language and content related to Vietnamese culture.
