Third Meeting of the APEC 2027 Content Subcommittee: Implementation orientation and draft proposal
WVR - On the afternoon of July 23, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, along with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, co-chaired the third meeting of the Content Subcommittee under the APEC 2027 National Committee.

In order to implement the conclusions of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, Chairman of the APEC 2027 National Committee, at the second meeting of the APEC 2027 National Committee regarding content preparation for APEC 2027, the meeting focused on two main topics: Orientation for implementing priorities, building and promoting initiatives; and the Draft Proposal on APEC 2027 content.
In his opening remarks, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu praised the APEC 2027 Secretariat for actively consulting member economies and initially receiving support, shaping the content and some major directions for APEC 2027. The Deputy Minister urged the Content Subcommittee to quickly agree on the activities to be implemented in 2027.

For his part, Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan urged the Subcommittee to strive to complete the Proposal by early September, clearly defining deadlines for each initiative; clearly assigning tasks to avoid overlaps among related units; while being flexible yet maintaining the content, and arranging the substance logically.
At the meeting, representatives from the APEC 2027 Secretariat presented an overview of the content development process, noting that initial ideas and proposals have received support from members, and recommending further refinement so that initiatives are more widely embraced, aiming to complete the content proposal as soon as possible.
Subcommittee members also discussed and agreed on priorities and implementation directions, aiming to achieve the best results in accordance with high-level leadership requirements, while affirming the crucial role of the Content Subcommittee.
Contributions focused on identifying and specifying priorities, building and proposing suitable initiatives and activities, completing the draft Proposal, as well as task allocation among related agencies.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan highly appreciated the proposals and opinions of the Subcommittee members, requesting the Content Subcommittee to actively participate in APEC cooperation activities in 2026; promptly build and specify initiatives; complete the Draft Proposal for Preparing and Implementing APEC 2027 Content Issues; quickly send proposals to the APEC National Committee; proactively coordinate with localities to prepare for the Proposal's implementation; review assigned tasks, ensuring progress, quality, and effectiveness to best prepare for the successful organization of APEC Vietnam 2027.
