The Minister emphasised that for Vietnam, Russia has always been a faithful and reliable friend. During the years of struggle for national independence and reunification, as well as in the construction and defense of the Fatherland, the Vietnamese people have always received great and valuable support and assistance from the people of the former Soviet Union and the people of Russia today.
Many generations of Vietnamese have matured from Russian university classrooms, returning to contribute to the country's development in various fields; many of Vietnam's strategic projects are marks of Vietnam-Soviet friendship, such as the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, the Vietsovpetro joint venture. These sentiments and support are always cherished and preserved by the Vietnamese people.

According to Minister Hoang Minh Son, the history of relations between Vietnam and Russia is a story of camaraderie, friendship, and reliable partnership. Over more than 76 years, the relationship between the two countries has been continuously nurtured and developed, becoming a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, increasingly consolidated and deepened.
Trustworthy political relations have been strengthened with high-level visits and regular interactions between the leaders of the two countries, cooperation in defense-security, energy, oil and gas, trade, investment, science-technology, education-training, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges achieving many positive results.

The Ambassador emphasised that Russia is ready to cooperate closely in addressing pressing issues on the international and regional agenda based on mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests.
"Our top priorities include ensuring peace, stability and security in the broadest sense of the term, and combating traditional and non-traditional challenges and threats, including international terrorism and transnational crime. We attach great importance to global efforts to address climate change, protect the environment, and promote an equitable energy transition,” Ambassador Bezdetko affirmed.
