Impressed by the initial results of AgriVMA’s rice fields, the Ambassador expressed his delight with the quality and productivity of the project compared to other rice fields in the province. The Ambassador also expressed confidence that, with Vietnam’s expertise and capability in rice cultivation, the project opens up prospects for self-sufficient, high-yield rice production in Cuba.
With the firsthand impression by the harvest yield of the first rice crop cultivated by AgriVMA, achieving a productivity of 7.5–8 tons per hectare, Ambassador Long urged AgriVMA to continue researching and expanding its investment project in rice production in Cuba. He also encouraged the company to provide support in terms of equipment, technology, and agricultural supplies to motivate local farmers to participate in production, contributing to Cuba’s goal of food self-sufficiency.
Ambassador Le Quang Long highly appreciated the efforts and capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises in promoting and implementing new initiatives and models to improve crop productivity and quality. These efforts contribute to Cuba’s self-sufficiency plans and food security while also seizing investment opportunities in a market that, despite challenges, holds great development potential.
The nvestment of Vietnamese enterprises in the Cuban market, particularly in the agricultural sector, also reflect their role and responsibility in fostering the special traditional friendship and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba. This is especially significant as Cuba faces an extremely challenging economic and social period.
AgriVMA, a Vietnamese company investing in the animal feed and agricultural production sectors in Cuba, is actively implementing its projects. Agriculture is a key priority for Cuba as part of its Economic and Social Development Strategy to 2030.
Currently, Vietnam is the leading investor from the Asia-Pacific region in Cuba, with seven projects spanning various sectors, including industrial park infrastructure, construction materials production, detergent manufacturing, diaper production, solar energy, animal feed production, and rice cultivation.
The success of Vietnamese enterprises already investing in Cuba serves as a strong motivation for more businesses from Vietnam to explore and invest in the Cuban market in the future.
