Reference exchange rate at 25,236 VND/USD, down at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 25,236 VND/USD on September 8, down 12 VND from the last work day of the previous week.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,498 VND/USD, and the floor rate 23,974 VND/USD.

At 8:25 am, the opening-hour rates at major commercial banks saw fluctuations.

Vietcombank cut both rates by 13 VND from the September 5 morning session, listing the buying rate at 26,177 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,497 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, BIDV listed the buying rate at 26,220 VND/USD, down 13 VND, and the selling rate at 26,497 VND/USD, up 30 VND.
