The launch was attended by PCU Central Committee member Juan Bernassa, Secretary of the Uruguayan Communist Youth (UJC) Natalia Díaz, and numerous party members.

In the introduction of the publication, the PCU emphasized that the 20th century was a period of great challenges for nations, from the fight against fascism and imperialism to efforts in building new social models.

According to the PCU, President Ho Chi Minh was one of the leaders who helped shape that era with his intellect, courage, and ability to connect the global national liberation movement.

The anthology includes President Ho Chi Minh's writings spanning nearly 50 years of his revolutionary activities, reflecting his learning process, struggles, and ideological development on national independence, building revolutionary forces, international solidarity, and constructing a new society.

The PCU stated that these documents not only hold historical value but also "illuminate" the current progressive movement, as they embody humility, courage, and profound respect for the people – core elements of a true revolutionary.

In today's global context, the PCU believes that publishing the anthology is a tribute to an outstanding leader and a message of hope for stronger ties between the peoples of the two countries.

The introduction clearly states: "We respectfully bow to a true hero of the era, an exemplary international soldier, and a shining example in the struggle for the freedom and dignity of nations".

Speaking at the launch, PCU Central Committee member Juan Bernassa affirmed that the political, theoretical, and organizational ideas presented in the anthology remain relevant as the world faces poverty, unemployment, inequality, and environmental crises.

The legacy of President Ho Chi Minh continues to be a "beacon guiding" forces striving for social justice.

Meanwhile, UJC Secretary Natalia Díaz emphasized that the publication also recalls the special connection between Ho Chi Minh and Uruguay, including the memory of his work on an ocean liner that docked in Montevideo in 1920. She noted that many of Ho Chi Minh's works, along with writings by General Secretary Le Duan and General Vo Nguyen Giap, were used as secret study materials during Uruguay's dictatorship (1973-1984), nurturing the spirit and resolve of today's young communists.

The anthology of President Ho Chi Minh published in Uruguay has a circulation of 500 copies.

Notably, the final section of the nearly 260-page book also features valuable photographic materials, vividly reflecting the Uruguay-Vietnam solidarity in the 1960s.

These include numerous rallies and marches in Montevideo protesting the U.S. invasion of Vietnam, such as marches organized by the Uruguayan Trade Union Youth Committee demanding U.S. withdrawal in March 1965, and images of Uruguayans attending the "Vietnam Night" event on March 26, 1968, at the square of the Montevideo City Council headquarters. All photos were taken by reporters from the daily El Popular, the PCU's official publication.

The book also publishes the PCU Central Committee's Declaration on the front page of El Popular on September 5, 1969, expressing "deep emotion" at President Ho Chi Minh's passing and affirming him as a "noble symbol of the national liberation struggle and proletarian internationalism".

The declaration emphasizes the Uruguayan people's commitment to continue supporting Vietnam until the ultimate victory in the struggle against foreign invaders.
