Promoting investment, trade and supply chain connectivity between Quang Ninh and Guangxi
WVR - On July 7, in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), the Consulate General of Vietnam in Nanning coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to organize the Quang Ninh (Vietnam)-Guangxi (China) Business Connection Conference.

Attending the Conference were Mr. Bui Van Khang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province; Mr. Luo Xin Ning, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning, along with nearly 200 delegates, including leaders from departments, sectors, business associations, and the business community of both sides.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province Bui Van Khang emphasized that the Conference is being held in the context of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and China developing very well, creating a strong impetus for Quang Ninh and Guangxi to continue expanding practical, effective, and mutually beneficial cooperation activities.

Chairman Bui Van Khang introduced the outstanding potentials and advantages of Quang Ninh Province, with its strategic geo-economic position, synchronized and modern infrastructure system, favorable business investment environment, and unique cultural and tourism values. He affirmed that Quang Ninh is gradually becoming an important economic, trade, tourism center, and international integration gateway of Vietnam.
He also urged the business communities of both sides to focus on promoting cooperation in four strategic pillars: border trade and logistics; tourism and cultural economy; processing industry, energy, and digital technology; high-tech agriculture and aquaculture.
Chairman Bui Van Khang also committed to creating all favorable conditions for Guangxi and Chinese businesses and investors to explore, invest, and do business in Quang Ninh. He affirmed that Quang Ninh Province will always listen, accompany, and promptly address difficulties and obstacles for businesses with the spirit of “Government serves – businesses develop”.

On the Guangxi side, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Luo Xin Ning affirmed that Guangxi and Quang Ninh have “mountains and rivers connected in one stretch”, a long-standing traditional friendship, and an increasingly solid foundation for cooperation.
Vice Chairman Luo Xin Ning used three brief messages to summarize the cooperative relationship between the two localities: “Looking back at the past, cooperation between Guangxi and Quang Ninh has been very brilliant and rich; looking at the present, cooperation between the two localities is developing solidly and strongly; looking to the future, the prospects for cooperation between Guangxi and Quang Ninh are extremely open”.
Based on this, the Vice Chairman proposed four suggestions, including urging both sides to continue expanding the scale of bilateral trade; expanding areas of investment cooperation; accelerating the construction of the Dongxing-Mong Cai cross-border economic cooperation zone; and deepening cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

In addition, speaking at the Conference, Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning (China) Nguyen Thi Huong emphasized that Guangxi continues to be an important gateway connecting China with ASEAN and is also one of Vietnam's important trade partners among Chinese localities. With the complementary advantages of Guangxi and Quang Ninh, the two localities will continue to play a pioneering role in promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China.
The Consulate General of Vietnam in Nanning will continue to play the role of a bridge, accompanying localities and businesses of both countries to promote increasingly practical, effective, and sustainable cooperation activities.

During the discussion session, delegates from both sides focused on exchanging solutions to enhance support for customs clearance of import and export goods, facilitating businesses through customs modernization, boosting the application of information technology and digital transformation, shortening clearance times, and improving the efficiency of logistics connectivity and supply chains between Quang Ninh and Guangxi.
Within the framework of the Conference, 11 Vietnamese enterprises and 11 Guangxi enterprises signed memorandums of understanding, cooperation agreements, and trade contracts in the fields of trade, investment, import and export, logistics, tourism, and services.
This outcome demonstrates the determination of the business communities on both sides to strengthen connectivity, expand practical cooperation, and create new momentum for economic and trade cooperation between Quang Ninh and Guangxi, as well as contribute positively to the friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China.
