Promoting cooperation with Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province (China)

The program provided an opportunity for consular agencies to gain deeper insights into the economic and social development, investment environment, and international cooperation potential of Zhaoqing. It also aimed to enhance exchanges and connections between Zhaoqing City and the international community.

Within the framework of the program, Comrade Truong Ai Quan, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Zhaoqing City, met and exchanged views with the consular officials and attending delegates. Present at the meeting were leaders of Zhaoqing City and representatives from the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.

In his speech at the meeting, Truong Ai Quan warmly welcomed the delegation of consulates general and guests visiting Zhaoqing. He noted that the gathering of diplomatic and consular representatives in Zhaoqing is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen friendship, promote exchanges, and explore new avenues for cooperation.

Introducing the city's development orientation, the Zhaoqing City Party Secretary emphasized its position in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Guangzhou Metropolitan Area. The locality is actively participating in building a high-quality “Belt and Road”, enhancing external openness, expanding international markets, developing cross-border e-commerce, and promoting deeper connections with foreign markets.

Secretary Truong Ai Quan expressed that Zhaoqing City wishes to continue strengthening exchanges with the consulates general in Guangzhou, promoting cooperation between Zhaoqing and countries worldwide in trade, investment, industrial innovation, culture, and tourism. He also expressed hope that consular agencies, trade associations, and related organizations will continue to pay attention to, explore, and connect with Zhaoqing, thereby sharing development opportunities from the Greater Bay Area.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Consular Corps in Guangzhou, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung highly appreciated the potential and strong development of Zhaoqing, especially its beautiful natural landscapes, rich history, culture, and spirit of innovation, creativity, and aspiration for development.

Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung emphasized that each visit to Zhaoqing brings new impressions of the city's rapid changes and development. This event is not just a friendly visit but also a valuable opportunity for consular agencies to enhance understanding, seek practical cooperation opportunities, and expand connections with Zhaoqing.

As a bridge between countries and the host locality, the consular agencies in Guangzhou aim to continue promoting connections between businesses, products, localities, and people of different countries with Zhaoqing. They also contribute to helping the international community better understand the potential, strengths, and cooperation opportunities of the city. Through this, both sides can expand cooperation in practical, effective, and long-term directions.

During the event, the Consular Corps delegation explored Zhaoqing's development situation, visited areas with strengths in industry, technology, and tourism, thereby gaining practical information about the city's investment environment, business opportunities, and cooperation potential.

The Zhaoqing City Bureau of Commerce also gave a thematic presentation on the investment environment, providing delegates with information on development orientation, investment attraction policies, and potential cooperation fields.

The participation of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou in the event, along with the Consular Corps representatives in Guangzhou, contributes to enhancing exchanges between Vietnam and Zhaoqing City. It also opens additional channels for connection in trade, investment, industry, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

This is also an opportunity to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Zhaoqing in particular, and Guangdong Province in general, in a more substantive, effective, and sustainable manner.
