According to the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, conservation efforts, forest management, and preservation of heritage values have been effectively implemented in recent times.

The special-use forest ecosystems are preserved intact, with forest coverage maintained at a stable rate of around 95%, and no new hotspots of illegal logging or forest fires have emerged.
In the field of scientific research and biodiversity conservation, the national park has organized numerous wildlife rescue activities, achieving a success rate of over 93% in rescues.
In 2025 alone, the unit implemented two provincial-level scientific projects and recorded several new species of flora and fauna for science, further affirming the global significance of Phong Nha – Ke Bang.
Linking conservation with sustainable tourism development, the national park has introduced new eco-tourism products, including the legendary Truong Son Road – Command Cave route.
In 2025, the park's tourist routes and sites welcomed over 893,000 visitors, generating total revenue of over 314 billion VND, highlighting the increasing attraction of the heritage site in the local green tourism development strategy.
In 2026, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park will collaborate with departments and sectors to advise the provincial People's Committee on completing procedures to present UNESCO with the title of World Biosphere Reserve, while also preparing the third World Natural Heritage nomination dossier focusing on aesthetic criteria.
Previously, Phong Nha - Ke Bang was recognized twice as a World Natural Heritage site by UNESCO in 2003 and 2015.
Notably, in July 2025, UNESCO approved a decision to adjust the heritage boundaries, expanding to include Hin Nam No National Park (Laos), making Phong Nha - Ke Bang a transboundary World Natural Heritage site, further cementing its status as the "kingdom of caves" and a leading adventure tourism destination in the region.
