New hotline to enhance safety and tourism services at Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage sites

Beyond its stunning natural beauty, the bay offers diverse experiences such as luxury cruises, kayaking adventures, and cultural encounters in traditional fishing villages.

The new hotline will serve as a central channel for receiving and coordinating the handling of information related to security and safety, search and rescue, and the tourism service environment.

This measure is expected to help improve service quality, ensure safety and public order, and further enhance visitors’ experiences at sites under the Management Board’s supervision.

On November 1, 2025, the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee issued a decision on the establishment of the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board.

Operating under the direct authority of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, the new management board was formed through the restructuring of three existing units: the Ha Long Bay Management Board, the Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board, and the Relic and Scenic Site Management Board under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board is a public administrative body responsible for advising and assisting the Provincial People’s Committee in managing, protecting, conserving, and promoting the values of the province’s exceptional natural and cultural heritage. Its key functions include scientific research, restoration, preservation, and sustainable tourism management of the Ha Long Bay world natural heritage site, the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac world cultural heritage complex and the Bai Tu Long National Park - ASEAN Heritage Park.

The Management Board possesses full legal status, its own seal, and bank account, and operates in compliance with Vietnamese law. It works under the direction and supervision of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee while also receiving professional guidance and oversight from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, and other relevant agencies.

Nestled amidst misty mountains and ancient forests, the Yen Tu Monuments and Landscape Complex harmoniously blends natural serenity with profound cultural and religious significance.

This organizational restructuring marks an important step toward unified, professional, and sustainable management of Quang Ninh’s world-class heritage sites, ensuring their preservation and continued contribution to global cultural and natural values.
