ABA is an agency under the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism, responsible for advising and promoting international cooperation in business investment, labor, and the film industry.

Established in 1982, ABA has contributed to creating nearly 75,000 new jobs and attracting 14 billion Euros in investment to Austria. It also collaborates with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) to boost Austrian investments abroad.

Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang highlighted Vietnam's investment policies and environment, offering significant potential and opportunities for Austrian enterprises with strengths in technology, finance, green transformation, and digital transformation. Vietnam is also a leading partner in sending workers abroad under non-profit models in major Asian and European markets, recognized for their skills, discipline, and adaptability.

The Ambassador cited the success of the nurse and caregiver training cooperation model at IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences in Lower Austria, which offers 150 full scholarships to Vietnamese students. These students receive comprehensive training and internships, ensuring high-paying jobs upon graduation.

Currently, the number of Vietnamese workers in Austria remains modest compared to other EU markets, and there is no government-level mechanism or agreement on labor cooperation. Vietnam aims to pave the way for skilled labor and vocational training cooperation with Austrian partners, particularly in nursing, information technology, electronics, hospitality, and seasonal work sectors.

Mr. Rene Tritscher stated that the Austrian government increasingly views Vietnam as a gateway market to the region, with significant potential and advantages aligning with Austrian businesses' competitive strengths in precision engineering, railways, high technology, financial services, biomedical technology, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

Vietnam is also a highly promising partner for skilled labor as Austria continues to expand its key labor markets beyond Southeast Europe, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brazil.

Mr. Rene Tritscher congratulated the sustainable quality-focused nursing training cooperation model at IMC Krems and agreed to promote its implementation with Vietnam in other Austrian states.

He also pledged support and collaboration with initiatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, including the Annual Technology Forum, Vietnam Investment and Business Forum, and the Vietnam-Austria Skilled Labor and Vocational Training Cooperation Forum (scheduled for December 10 in Austria).
