President of the Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Phi Long stressed the presence of the delegation at the event will help promote the Vietnamese land and people, introduce the HCYU and the role of Vietnamese youth in national growth, and strengthen solidarity between young Vietnamese and their international peers.
The participation consolidates Vietnam’s position and contributions to global youth movements for peace, democracy and social development, said Long.
The HCYU can also take advantage of the fair to boost cooperation with Russian partners in contribution to Vietnam – Russia relations, he added.
At the 19th WFYS, Vietnam is set to make speeches and join discussion sessions on a wide range of subjects, including the outcomes of the Russian October Revolution, and the roles of younger generation in labour, science-technology, culture, and education.
The delegation will run an exhibition and a friendship stall to promote Vietnamese history, socio-economic development and cuisine.
The Vietnamese delegates will also hold separate meetings with different youth organisations and join musical – sport exchanges at the festival.
The WFYS, first held in 1947, is expected to bring together 20,000 youths from more than 150 countries to this October’s event.
