Prof. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh: The sole female professor in information technology

Prof. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh (born 1975) is currently the Vice Rector of the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Prof. Binh graduated in Computer Science from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. She continued her master's and doctoral studies at the same institution. Since 1998, she has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology (later the Institute of Information and Communication Technology), Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

To date, Prof. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh has completed three ministerial-level research projects and published 88 scientific papers, including 49 in prestigious international journals. She has also published three books.

Her research focuses on approximate optimization methods and applications, multitasking evolution, evolutionary computation, and modern deep learning applied to combinatorial optimization problems.

Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Van: Vietnam's youngest female professor in 2025

Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Van (born 1980) is the youngest female professor in Vietnam in 2025. She is currently the Head of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology at the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City. She has been recognized by the State Professorship Council as meeting the standards for a professor in Physics.

Prof. Van graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, and earned her doctorate from Lille 1 University of Science and Technology, France.

Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Van has published 81 papers, including 45 in prestigious international journals, and is the lead author of 18. She is also the author of two monographs on rare-earth doped luminescent materials and functional nanomaterials, making significant contributions to the field of materials science in Vietnam.

Prof. Tran Thi Minh Tuyet: Female professor with 150 scientific papers

Prof. Tran Thi Minh Tuyet (born 1965) has been recognized by the State Professorship Council as meeting the standards for a professor in Political Science. She is a senior lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Prof. Tuyet earned her bachelor's degree in History from Rostov State University on the Don, Russia - Soviet Union, and her doctorate in History from the Supreme Attestation Commission of Russia.

She has supervised four doctoral students to successful thesis defenses and published 150 scientific papers, including five in prestigious international journals.

Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh: The sole female professor in economics

Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh (born 1974) is currently the Chair of the University Council at the University of Economics, University of Danang. She graduated in Finance and Banking from the University of Economics, University of Danang, and later earned her master's and doctoral degrees from Université du Québec à Montréal, Canada. She has published 68 scientific papers, including 17 in prestigious international journals, 50 in domestic journals, and one conference paper.

Prof. Tran Le Bao Ha: The sole female professor in biology

Prof. Tran Le Bao Ha (born 1975) is currently the Head of the Department at the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

She has published 118 scientific papers, including 45 in prestigious international journals, and has authored five books. She holds a utility solution patent related to the process of culturing human dental pulp tissue to obtain stem cells, granted by the Intellectual Property Office.

Two female professors in psychology

Prof. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan (born 1974) and Prof. Le Thi Minh Loan (born 1973) are two female professors in Psychology. Both are currently working at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

Prof. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan is currently the Deputy Head of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work. She previously graduated from Hanoi University of Foreign Languages, earned her master's degree from the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and her doctorate from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Prof. Lan has published 56 scientific papers, including 21 in prestigious international journals, and has authored 21 books and book chapters.

Meanwhile, Prof. Le Thi Minh Loan is currently the Head of the Department of Management – Business Psychology, Faculty of Psychology. She previously graduated from Moscow State University, Russia, and earned her doctorate from the National University of Management, Russia. She has published 56 scientific papers, including five in prestigious international journals.

Two professors at Can Tho University

Prof. Tran Thanh Truc (born 1973) is a female professor in Food Technology, and Prof. Bui Thi Buu Hue (born 1966) is a female professor in chemistry. Both are currently working at Can Tho University.

Prof. Tran Thanh Truc is currently the Deputy Head of the Postgraduate Faculty at Can Tho University. She previously earned her master's degree from the University of Leuven, Belgium, and her doctorate from Can Tho University.

Prof. Truc has published 170 scientific papers, including 39 in prestigious international journals.

Meanwhile, Prof. Bui Thi Buu Hue is a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Can Tho University. She previously earned her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

She has published 133 scientific papers, including 50 in prestigious international journals. She has been granted two patents and utility solutions by the Intellectual Property Office.
