Vietnamese cuisine impresses at ASEAN-China Bazaar 2025 in Venezuela

WVR - Banh mi (bread), spring rolls, and coffee – iconic dishes synonymous with Vietnamese culinary culture – captivated numerous visitors at the ASEAN-China Bazaar 2025 held at Francisco Miranda Park, Caracas, Venezuela, on November 1, 2025.

The rich and delicate flavours of Vietnamese cuisine not only won over local diners but also helped spread the image of a friendly and hospitable Vietnam to international friends.

The bazaar, organized by the Embassies of ASEAN countries and the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela, aims to enhance the promotion of member nations, foster cultural exchanges, and strengthen friendly relations with Venezuela.

The event attracted representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various ministries, political-social organizations, the business community, as well as numerous residents of Caracas and the local diplomatic corps.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Indonesian Ambassador Fikry Cassidy, the rotating Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Caracas (ACC), emphasized that ASEAN is a region with one of the world's most diverse, rich, and unique cultures.

The Ambassador affirmed that consensus and solidarity have created intra-regional strength, adding that the bazaar is an important occasion to promote understanding and cultural connectivity among ASEAN-China countries and Venezuela.

Representing the Vietnamese diplomatic delegation, Ambassador Vu Trung My highlighted that the bazaar is an opportunity to promote the cultural and culinary values of nations, contributing to enhancing cultural diplomacy, fostering international cooperation, and strengthening friendly relations between ASEAN-China countries and Venezuela.

In the exhibition area, the Vietnamese booth stood out with a culturally rich space, showcasing handicrafts, ao dai, conical hats, and especially traditional dishes.

Vietnamese products and dishes continued to make a strong impression, demonstrating the cultural influence of Vietnam in the Latin American region and affirming Vietnam's active role in international cultural exchanges.

Many visitors expressed their impressions of the Vietnamese culinary booth. Maria Fernanda, a Caracas resident, shared: “I’ve heard a lot from friends about Vietnamese banh mi. When I tried it at the bazaar, I particularly liked the harmonious combination of crispy bread, fresh vegetables, and rich sauce.”

Meanwhile, Guillermo Torres, a businessman attending the event, remarked: “Vietnamese cuisine is sophisticated and balanced. The spring rolls are delicious, with fresh ingredients and a light yet profound flavor.”

After tasting Vietnamese dishes, Japanese Ambassador to Venezuela Yasushi Sato expressed his impression of the unique and delicate flavors of Vietnamese banh mi and coffee, while praising Vietnam's efforts in cultural promotion at the event.
