On September 9, at Katara Cultural Village – Qatar's leading centre for arts and cultural exchange, the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar, in collaboration with the Katara organizing committee, solemnly opened the "Hon Viet" art exhibition.

The event runs from September 9-20, showcasing to the Qatari public and international friends the outstanding works of three Vietnamese artists from different generations and schools.

The three artists featured in the exhibition demonstrate the diversity, depth, and creativity of Vietnamese art. Artist Nguyen Minh Son, one of the leading figures in contemporary painting, presents landscapes capturing the serene beauty of his homeland. With vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes, his paintings evoke emotions and nostalgia for Vietnam's nature and life.

Additionally, artist Khong Do Duy brings works rich in symbolism and convention, deeply influenced by Eastern philosophy. The harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, meditation spirit, and unique composition creates a balanced space imbued with Eastern essence in his paintings.

Notably, female artist Vuong Linh – dubbed the "rose" of Vietnamese art, infuses the exhibition with fresh vitality. Inspired by nature and the vigor of spring, her paintings are poetic, offering viewers a sense of peace, optimism, and vitality.

Through these paintings, we hope the Qatari public can feel the soul of Vietnam – a nation rich in resilience, compassion, and creativity, while also strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.”

According to the Ambassador, the choice of the name "Hon Viet" carries profound meaning. It not only introduces the image of the country and its people but also reflects the spirit of peace, appreciation for diversity, and optimism towards the future of the Vietnamese nation.

The exhibition is part of the cultural diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy initiatives that the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar consistently promotes. Through art events, the Embassy aims to complement the increasingly developing political and economic relations between the two countries, while also spreading Vietnamese cultural values to the international community.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep also expressed deep gratitude to Katara Cultural Village for their enthusiastic support in organizing the exhibition in such a prestigious and symbolic space for promoting international dialogue and exchange.
