This marks ofi’s first year of participation, securing an immediate spot in this prestigious ranking for foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam. This milestone not only celebrates nearly 30 years of ofi’s presence in Vietnam but also reaffirms ofi’s tangible contributions to the national sustainable agriculture and green economy strategy in a new era.

Bringing value-added Vietnamese ingredients to the global market

Moving beyond the traditional model of sourcing raw commodities, ofi has established a large-scale ecosystem for production and processing. With a network of 7 large, modern production facilities across Dong Nai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Tay Ninh, ofi has maintained its position among the top exporters of cashews and pepper in Vietnam for 3 consecutive years. In the coffee category, ofi also affirms its position as a leading exporter of both instant and green coffee.

The centrepiece of this strategy is the capacity to transform Vietnamese agricultural products into high-value ingredients. Over the past years, these ofi’s facilities have supplied millions of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) packs, meeting international standards, directly to leading retailers across multiple international markets. This focus on value-added processing contributes to greater local economic impact while supporting the positioning of Vietnamese agricultural products in premium global markets.

ofi’s leadership in Vietnam’s agricultural sector was further recognised by the 2025 Heritage Award from the Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS). This accolade reflects ofi’s success in building an integrated value chain, from sustainable sourcing to high-tech processing. In the cashew sector, ofi exports Vietnamese produce to more than 20 countries. This model of global connectivity and quality excellence is being scaled across ofi’s entire portfolio in Vietnam, including Coffee and Spices.

Heading into a new stage of growth, with a dedicated team of over 4,500 employees and a network of over 9,000 farmers, ofi will continue to invest in digital tools and processing capabilities in a way that aims to support farmer livelihoods and positive environmental impact, in line with its global Choices for Change sustainability strategy.

Commitment to sustainable development and community support

Through its global Choices for Change sustainability strategy, ofi is working to drive long-term positive change for people and the planet together with governments, farmers, civil society, and customers.

ofi is delivering its greenhouse gas emission reduction roadmap and promoting regenerative agriculture in Vietnam with tangible results. This approach is closely aligned with the government's national priorities on climate change and green growth[1], translating global ambitions into practical, on-the-ground impact.

Aligned with these national directions, ofi focuses its efforts on two key areas in Vietnam:

Contributing to net-zero through low-carbon and transparent supply chains:

  • Globally, ofi’s near-term climate targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)[2]. By 2030 (from a 2020 base year), ofi aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% (aligned with a 1.5°C pathway) and reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by 30% across key value chain categories, while scaling energy efficiency measures and increasing the use of renewable electricity.
  • Through its AtSource sustainable sourcing solution, ofi enables customers to track product origin, measure carbon footprint, and environmental impact with real-time data across our nuts, spices and coffee businesses in Vietnam.
  • Deforestation monitoring (EUDR)[3] has been implemented across 100% of ofi’s direct supply chains of green coffee in Vietnam, supporting Vietnam’s climate actions and forest protection.

Advancing green growth through sustainable agriculture and community development:

  • Over 9,000 farmers are supported through globally recognised certification programs such as AtSource[4], 4C[5] and Rainforest Alliance[6], helping improve productivity while reducing environmental impact.
  • To date, over 16,000 hectares of farmland have been brought under regenerative practices, contributing to improved soil health and biodiversity.
  • ofi continues to invest in community development, supporting nearly 16,000 farmer households, with a focus on empowering more than 7,000 women across its supply chains.

Reflecting on this recognition, leadership at ofi emphasized Vietnam’s strategic role in its global growth journey. Gaurav Patil, Country Head of ofi Vietnam, shared: “Vietnam is a strategic manufacturing hub for ofi in Asia-Pacific. This Golden Dragon Award reinforces our confidence to continue investing, turning Vietnam into a 'launchpad' to bring Vietnamese food ingredients further into the global value chain, while aiming to create more resilient farming communities”.

As shared by Ro Mah Long, a cashew farmer from Ia Krai commune, Gia Lai, “Previously, we farmed based on old habits with unstable yields. Since ofi’s staff came to guide us on clean farming, our cashew garden produces better quality and sells for a better price. Our village life has changed; I feel proud that the cashews I grow are reaching the whole world. The support we receive is not only about farming. We also learn how to manage costs, improve quality, and take better care of our families. Life is more stable now, and we feel more confident about the future.”

Ly Quynh Huong, a cassia farmer from Mau A commune, Lao Cai province, said, “We are changing the way we farm step by step. Using fewer chemicals helps the soil become healthier, and we can see the difference over time. We believe that our land can continue to support our crops for many years.”
