Of the figure, 160 are imported cases, accounting for 29.7%. As many as 223 patients have been cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals.
The current active cases are being treated at 8 hospitals across the country, including 39 at central-level hospitals, 4 at provincial hospitals, and 2 at district-level hospitals.
Noticeably, three sickest patients numbered 19, 161, and 91 are getting better, the Steering Committee said.
The positive signal was attributed to successful control of COVID-19 clusters, said Tran Dac Phu, senior adviser at the Public Health Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry of Health.
However, the global COVID-19 pandemic situation still remains complicated, requiring Vietnam to continue staying vigilant, Phu stressed.
Citizens should continue pursuing recommended measures to protect themselves, including wearing mask and keeping distance to others.
