Localities care for the poor and policy beneficiaries ahead of Tet

The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s chapter in Da Nang City and the city’s Fund for the Poor jointly held a programme on January 20 to present more than 14,000 gifts, worth over 7 billion VND, to needy people in the city ahead of Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

The recipients included poor households, people affected by Covid-19 pandemic, and disadvantaged trade union members as well as families of Co Tu and Hoa ethnic groups in the communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Phu and Hoa Ninh in Hoa Vang District.

Also, to mark the occasion of the Year of the Tiger 2022, leaders of Tuyen Quang province have paid pre-Tet visits and delivered over 16,800 gift packages, totalling around 3.8 billion VND in value, to revolutionary contributors and families of policy beneficiaries in the locality.

The provincial leaders have also handed over presents to five nursing centres for national contributors and wounded soldiers in the province.

On January 20, the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s chapter in Yen Bai Province received 1,300 gifts, worth 650 million VND, donated by the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank)’s branch in Yen Bai.

The donations were made in response to the province’s call for local businesses and organisations to join hands to provide a happy and cheerful Tet festival to the poor such that no one is left behind during Tet.

According to Vice Chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the unit has received nearly 5,400 gift packages, worth more than 3 billion VND, in donations from businesses and benefactors.
