Present at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Deputy Director-General of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Education and Training; Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei and the 34 scholarship recipients.
Ambassador He Wei congratulated the students on their outstanding achievements in gaining admission to prestigious Chinese universities and described the scholarships as “a ticket to embark on a new journey — setting foot in a faraway land to pursue academic knowledge while experiencing Chinese society.”
The Ambassador expressed his hope that during their studies in China, the students would actively foster Vietnam–China friendship, build mutual trust and understanding between the two peoples through cultural exchanges and everyday interactions.

Quoting the well-known saying, “Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles,” the Ambassador encouraged the students to embrace openness and courage, and to use their youthful passion and sincerity to write the next chapter of friendship between the two nations.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Director-General Nguyen Hai Thanh congratulated the students on successfully passing the selection process to receive scholarships to China’s leading universities.
He affirmed that education and training remain a highlight in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, with diverse and effective bilateral cooperation programs across multiple fields and levels.

In recent years, China has trained many Vietnamese professionals and experts in areas such as traditional medicine, economics, tourism, and agriculture. China is also becoming an increasingly attractive destination for international students, including Vietnamese, thanks to its improving education quality, reasonable costs, and rapid economic growth.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh expressed his hope that the students would maintain their passion for learning, actively cultivate skills and international experience, and strive to become global citizens who contribute to Vietnam’s development and strength Vietnam–China relations.
“I believe that after studying in China, you will become capable professionals and global citizens, making positive contributions to national development as well as to deepening the friendship between our two peoples,” he emphasized.
On behalf of the 34 scholarship recipients, Ms. Tran Ngoc Van Anh, a student at the Foreign Language Specialized School under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Embassy and the Ministry of Education and Training.

For Van Anh, this is not only an opportunity to study at one of the world’s top universities but also a solid stepping stone toward her future dreams and ambitions.
Reflecting on her journey, Van Anh shared that success can only be achieved through constant effort and perseverance. She is confident that with her own dedication and the support of teachers and friends, she will quickly adapt to the new environment, gain valuable knowledge, and achieve success.
She also hopes to connect and learn from international students, sharing experiences and building a united and strong student community.

“I hope that after completing my studies, I can return and contribute in my own small way to the development of my homeland, becoming a bridge of friendship that further strengthens the good relationship between Vietnam and China,” Van Anh proudly affirmed.
Holding her admission letter from Tsinghua University, one of China’s most prestigious institutions, 19-year-old Pham Mai Anh could not hide her joy when speaking with The World and Vietnam Report.
For Mai Anh, this is an opportunity to study at a top Asian university, meet leading scholars, and learn from international peers.
She also recognizes her role in promoting relations between the two countries. “I hope to build a small bridge that brings the beauty of Vietnamese culture and traditions to the world, while further deepening the friendly ties between Vietnam and China,” she said.
Of the 34 scholarships awarded by the Chinese Government this year, 4 are for doctoral studies, 7 for master’s programs, and 23 for undergraduate programs.
