The program was attended by officials including Vu Hai Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association; Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Nguyen Thị Hoang Van, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Agencies; Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross; Dong Huy Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
International friends attending included Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, alongside Ambassadors and Chargé d'affaires from Latin American countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Uruguay.
In the history of national liberation and the international communist movement, few relationships are as unique as that between Vietnam and Cuba. Despite being separated by the Eastern and Western hemispheres, the two nations met early on, sharing the struggle for the common goals of national liberation and socialism, writing golden pages of special solidarity and pure brotherhood.

In his opening remarks, Nguyen Ngoc Ky, Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, stated that Vietnam and Cuba, though half a world apart, have established a model of traditional solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation in international relations. The brotherly bond between Vietnam and Cuba, founded by Cuban national hero José Martí, President Ho Chi Minh, and Leader Fidel Castro, has been carefully nurtured and preserved by generations of leaders and citizens of both countries, continuing to grow stronger.
Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Ky emphasized that over the past 65 years, Vietnam and Cuba have stood side by side, both during the struggle for national independence and in the challenging times of building and developing each country. The artistic program celebrating 65 years of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations symbolizes cultural connection, showcasing loyalty, solidarity, and friendship, further strengthening the bond and promoting cooperation between the two nations. The program is a wonderful blend of Vietnamese traditional music and captivating Cuban melodies.
Affirming Hanoi's spirit of comradeship through practical support for Cuba in general and Havana in particular, Nguyen Ngoc Ky noted that at today's artistic program, the people of Hanoi stand in solidarity with the Cuban people, offering the strongest support, thereby providing strength and sincere encouragement to the Cuban brothers in the current phase.

At the event, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes expressed gratitude to the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the Hanoi Red Cross, and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports for collaborating with the Embassy to organize this special artistic program during the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year. He also thanked Hanoi's leadership and social organizations for their contributions to the support program, reflecting high humanitarian values.
Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes noted that December 2, 1960, marked a significant milestone in the relationship between the two brotherly nations and the Latin American and Caribbean region, as Cuba became the first country in the region to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. This initiated an everlasting bond between the peoples of the two countries. The remarkable similarities in the thoughts and actions of President Hồ Chí Minh and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro have nurtured this brotherhood from the very beginning.
Cuba fully supports the just cause of the Vietnamese people, with the entire Cuban nation rallying for many years to aid Vietnam's struggle.

Similarly, the steadfast attachment of the Vietnamese people and leaders is deeply appreciated. During the difficult periods Cuba has faced due to the U.S. economic embargo, Vietnam's unwavering stance at international forums, along with frequent shipments of precious rice and other meaningful acts of solidarity, have never been absent.
The cultural program featured songs praising the homeland, the country, celebrating Hanoi - "City for Peace", and the Vietnam-Cuba friendship, a beautiful symbol of the steadfast friendship and brotherhood between the two nations.
Within the framework of the artistic program, there was also a photo exhibition showcasing significant milestones in the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the governments and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba; images of the work of the Vietnam Red Cross and Hanoi city.
The Vietnam-Cuba relationship has been described with many beautiful adjectives, including the title of the campaign "Vietnam-Cuba: 65 Years of Friendship" launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee over 65 days. Along with the Central Committee, Hanoi actively organized activities in support of the Cuban people, reflecting great spiritual significance, providing strength and sincere encouragement to the Cuban people.
The campaign in support of the Cuban people, with the high stature of Vietnam-Cuba friendship, but with the enduring resonance, strength, and value of pure, steadfast friendship, will be vividly expressed in the Artistic Program celebrating 65 years of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations.
